Los Quetzales National Park

Located in Copey of Dota, 76.5 kilometers south of San José. It is a special area for bird watching, such as the quetzal (Pharomachrus mocinno). The cloud forest has become an ideal habitat for a wide variety of plants that make the place very attractive for the animals and birds that live in the area. 

In different regions of the park, more than 50% of the 53 endemic species that have been found in the Savegre River basin can be found. It is a place of great wealth, both in flora and fauna, where you can enjoy the different trails for observation.
The maximum elevation is 3190 m a.s.l. and the minimum of 1240 m a.s.l. and reached temperatures between 5 ºC and 14 ºC.

Fares (Plus VAT):
• ¢1000 National visitors and residents over 13 years of age.
• ¢500: National and resident children (age 2 to 12 years).
• $10 Non-resident visitors over 13 years old.
• $5 Non-resident children (ages 2 to 12 years).
• ¢500 National visitors and residents of primary and secondary education, in educational tours organized by the educational centers and that have been previously coordinated with the Administration of the protected wild area.
• Higher education students must pay the rate established for national or non-resident visitors, over 13 years of age.
• Children under 2 years of age do not pay income, as well as national visitors over 65 years of age.
• Tickets are purchased at the national park and payment is made by debit or credit card.
